Check Out This Awesome Sonoma County Shopping

If you are, like most people, waiting for the last minute to look through possible winter things to do in Sonoma County while gathering every single ad listing for advice on a great winter vacation in Sonoma County, then don’t fret. This is for you!

So, if you like to “shop ’til you drop,” as the adage goes, then you are in luck, once more, friend…. as Sonoma County has plenty of places for that. They have multiple retailers for men, women, and children (and yes, even newborns and pets if you like to dress up that cute puppy of yours with a nice little sweater!). The best shopping spot areas are Petaluma, Sebastopol, and Santa Rosa. Let’s cover each in a bit more detail below.

Petaluma

If you like antiques and boutiques and find yourself more of a history buff, then Petaluma Premium Outlets is your spot to go to first. They have plenty of these historical sites and so much else; did you know that they even have iron-front types of classic-looking buildings just about everywhere you walk? Indeed, you can feel the rich cultural heritage of the whole area as you pass on by, and every single shop is designed with that same sort of classic, historic feel.

If you want to see some of the best wares from all over being sold by more than 60 shops, this is the place to be. You’ll find both locally owned brands as well as national favorites, so you’re almost guaranteed to find something you like or pick out a souvenir for someone you love back home.

Sebastopol

Many craft shops abound in this little area known as Sebastopol. In fact, not only that, but you will find a nifty little plethora of bookstores, too, if book shopping is your thing as well. This little town is blessed in so many more ways than one, including the very fact that they have some of their best shops right in the downtown area. Sebastopol is filled with all kinds of eateries, bars, shops, art galleries, and so much else. You may be many things when here, but bored you will NOT be!

Want to shop for some new plants, or even plant-nurturing tools and other goodies, while you are at it? Then the one and only California Carnivores are also calling your name. It’s one of Sebastopol’s best carnivorous plant nurseries in the area. Gallery 300 and Art & Soul are two more popular establishments in this area.

Santa Rosa

If you like to shop for yarn, quilts, and such (among many other things, of course), then Santa Rosa is your one-stop destination in Sonoma County just for that. You ought to first check out the place known as the Cast Away Yarn Shop, where you can find only the highest quality materials and not just basics for easy wear and tear when you need some weaving, crocheting, and the like. All yarns in this shop are made of natural fiber, too, and you can quickly feel so upon touch.

If you like traditional, imported furniture from places like Japan, you should check out Santa Rosa’s only Green Fish Trading. They’ve got quality cabinets and more. Also within Santa Rosa are notable stops like Whistlestop Antiques and A’roma Roasters.
