| This Friday, May 30th we’re bringing something extra special to Ciao Bruto Wine & Provisions! From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, we’re hosting an exclusive tasting featuring an exceptional lineup of wines from KABAYAN WINES AND TRAIL MARKER WINE CO! You read that right, we’re bringing in two winemakers to close out the month of May and we hope you can join in the fun!
Justine Osilla was raised by a traditional Filipino family that had a narrow definition of success, and definitely didn’t involve winemaking. Though her family thought wine was an unconventional path, they came around because she was able to make them feel passionate by unashamedly sharing what she loves & being inclusive despite their doubts. Launched in 2023, Kabayan Wines (coming from a Filipino term that translates to “my people”) is inspired by the lack of conversation around pairing wine with Filipino food. Justine hopes to make wine education more accessible and to share the vibrancy of her culture with her low intervention wines.
Trail Marker Wine Co is a Huffine Virgil production-Drew Huffine and Emily Virgil that is. Both cut their teeth in the Sonoma winemaking scene both on the winemaking and hospitality sides. Trail Marker came to be shortly after the two were married. Fruit is sourced from family owned and responsibly farmed vineyards from the Santa Cruz mountains to Lodi. The minimal intervention style of winemaking creates high acid, low alcohol wines with great balance.
